VIdde is another light and airy yarn from Hillesvag coming from Norwegian lambs wool, providing a clear color when dyed (as compared to the Varde which comes from a particular breed of sheep having light and dark wool, producing a more heathered yarn when dyed)

In the dye series for Vidde lamb wool yarn, we have only used GOTS-approved dyes. GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) requires that dyes are biodegradable and non-toxic. The finished product may not contain allergens or residues of hazardous chemicals. GOTS-approved dye is allowed in organic production of yarn and textiles.

200m (218 yds)/100g skeins. This yarn would be considered a Worsted Weight yarn.

2-ply, 100% Norwegian wool.

Supplied in 100 g (2 x 50 g) skeins.

Gauge: 18 sts x 24 rounds = 10 x 10 cm on needles size 4.5 – 5 mm.

Vidde and Varde can be knitted together and the colors complement each other beautifully. The yarn is used in many patterns in the books Wilderness Sweaters by Linka Neumann.

Unbleached white that matches the yarn can be found in the Luna line of Hillesvag Yarns

Washing instructions
We recommend hand washing the garments with mild wool soap and letting them dry flat.
