Another NEW yarn from Selbu Spinneri in Norway! BÆKRE Crossbred is a thick, bulky and warm two-ply yarn made of wool from 100 %, ethically sourced, Norwegian sheep. Wool with long thick fibers provides good hold in the garment and contributes to high durability, while softer fibers make the garment comfortable to wear. The yarn is suitable for thick sweaters, sofa blankets and pillows, and is often knitted on needle size 6. This is a yarn for the quick projects of outerwear and interior decorations. Our Bækre yarn is made in two wool qualities that are nice to combine. Bækre Crossbred is often perceived as softer than Bækre Villsau, which has a more rustic feel (Bækre Villsau is not yet carried at SUFibers).
This yarn can be combined with Alafoss Lopi (or other similar gauge bulky yarns) if you want contrast colors to the natural colors, and has the same gauge as
100% Norwegian wool
