Raus Trønder

Raus Trønder is a lovely 3-ply yarn made from the softest wool from Norwegian sheep. The wool comes from Norwegian Merino, Norwegian White Sheep and Grey Trønder Sheep. The yarn is medium thick with an element of unevenness that gives the knitting a lovely vibrant feel.

There are only a few merino sheep in Norway and therefore there is very little Norwegian merino wool, which makes this yarn extra special. The wool in this yarn comes from sheep grazing on the mountainsides at Leine merino in Kvam. Leine merino has been working with extra fine-fibered wool and merino since the 1940s, and has since then been crucial in the breeding work on merino in Norway. The operation at Leine merino is characterized by great care and love for the animals and nature. That makes good wool.

RausTrønder is one of our softest yarns and is especially suitable for medium-thick garments that need to be close to the body and baby knitwear. This yarn is suitable for small people from Trøndelag and anyone else who likes soft wool. Warm and comfortable, both for fine and hiking.

Spun from a unique blend of 50% wool from Norwegian merino and 50% extra soft wool from Grå Trøndersau or Norsk Kvit Sau. We treat the wool very gently, so that it retains the good properties that wool has.
